Vamp-entine's day dinner

For Valentine's Day my friends and I decided to celebrate in a slightly more gruesome way. We decided to throw a Vampire themed dinner party. We were inspired by the influx of movies and TV shows related to vampires.

Our table was set using red and black fabric accented with "fire hazard" amounts of candles.

For dinner we had creole and Cajun food such as gumbo and jambalaya.

For dessert we ate the red velvet cake that lay hidden under the chocolate coffin I made as well as biniets drizzled with raspberry sauce

But as much fun as the dinner party had been the time came when we had to blow out the candles and send everyone home.

ALOHA!

A good friend of mine is leaving for Hawaii for a "Teach America" program, and we threw her a surprise going away Luau. For the party I made her this cake in the shape of an Island, and it turned out better than expected! ALOHA COURTNEY!
